Winning the UEFA European Championship sure was a sweet one as they’ve not had great success in these kind of Championships in decades. For me personally it was even sweeter as the only goal came after around 30 minutes by Liverpool’s own Fernando “The Man” Torres 🙂

I watched the game in the centre of Fuengirola, Spain. Atmosphere and all simply outstanding. Even the police drove around with flags on their cars. Now I can only hope my hearing will return to normal… 🙂

Liverpool didn’t make it to the final in the Champions League this year, but it was a close race against Chelsea in the Semi-finals. 4th place in the league ensures yet another year with CL , and the Spanish newcomer Fernando Torres made an incredible Premier League first year.

With his 24th league goal of the campaign against Tottenham in the final game this weekend he overtook Ruud van Nistelrooy’s old record and become the most prolific foreigner ever in a debut season. I believe congratulations are in order, and best of luck for the seasons to come.
