Introducing Splashup

Splashup, formerly Fauxto, is a powerful editing tool and photo manager. With all the features professionals use and novices want, it’s easy to use, works in real-time and allows you to edit many images at once.

Splashup runs in all browsers, integrates seamlessly with top photosharing sites (requires signing up), and even has its own file format so you can save your work in progress.

Click the preview picture below to give it a try:

As an alternative you might also want to check out the new browser version of Photoshop, Photoshop Express. As with (almost) any Adobe product this requires registration but my first impression was very good. I will post about this later…

Next generation laptops

A lot has changed in the 20 years since the first laptop computers appeared, including gigahertz processors, colour screens, optical drives and wireless data. However, one thing that has stubbornly stayed the same is the conventional clamshell format with its hinged display lid that opens to reveal a mechanical keyboard.

That’s about to change. The rules of notebook design and the components that go inside are being rewritten to make the road a better place to work and play.

The Compenion concept notebook, designed by Felix Schmidberger

Let’s take a look at some concept notebooks. Just as futuristic show cars give us insight into what we might be driving in the future, concept notebooks offer a sneak peek at how we’ll be computing.

Amazing WordPress Themes

Last night I visited noupe.com as I saw from the log they are listing my jQuery navigation menu. Besides the obvious increase in self-esteem I also found a great list of probably the best looking, and working, WP themes around. So if you are looking to enhance your blog, this list is definitely worth a look.

To end this post I would also like to say a big thank you to all of you mentioning my work. Really do appreciate all the visitors you are throwing me :)

Introducing escaloop

escaloop allows you to build a list of up to 20 RSS feeds — feeds like your latest del.icio.us bookmarks, your recent Twitter activity, your new blog posts, your newly uploaded Flickr images, just to name a few — which it will then sort, clean up and tastefully arrange in a concise, neat and pretty list on your own site.

By the way: escaloop is not considered “beta”, but things might still break, what with it being a personal side project. Enjoy! :)

Supported services:

  • del.icio.us
  • Flickr
  • Google
  • Google Reader
  • LastFM
  • Livejournal
  • Magnolia
  • Pownce
  • StumbleUpon
  • Tumblr
  • Twitter
  • Vox

There are no user accounts. When you first set up your escaloop badge, you’ll get a so-called “escaloop ID”, which can be used to change or adjust your badge’s configuration later on.
